FAQ

Will the cost of treatment be covered by my health insurance?

This depends on the type of policy that you have. I am recognised by all of the major health insurers including Aviva, Cigna, AXA PPP and Standard Life. Most companies will pay for treatment but may have certain restrictions. To access payment from your insurance company you may need to obtain a referral from a doctor or there may be a limitation as to the amount of cover.

Will I have to attend every week?

Unlike some therapies which operate a rigid system, CBT is a flexible approach which can fit in with your schedule.

How many sessions will I need?

This will vary depending on a number of factors such as the type of problem you have, its severity, any secondary issues, etc. CBT is not an approach where you attend for say ten sessions and at the end you are given a certificate. Treatments tend to be front loaded i.e. I will try to give you as much information as I can, as early as possible. How quickly you are able to apply it will be up to you.

Why do I feel like this?

There can be many reasons why and sometimes they are important. However, what might be more useful to ask, “What can I do about it?”
